Hello… Is this thing on?

Hi there! Thanks for coming by and taking a glimpse into my world. I’m Katrina and this is… Home Life Soul. My blog has been in the making for quite some time…Mostly in my mind. But thanks to supportive friends (my blogger babes, you know who you are), Abby from Just a Girl and Her Blog and the amazing that should be all caps AMAZING, Gina at Bella Creative Studio, my creative space has finally come to fruition. Here you will find my love for all things home decor, family, travel and inspiration. If you love DIY, home decor, reading, traveling, style, family and baby friendly products (all on a budget of course) you’ve come to the right place! Oh and speaking of budget, I’ll post a few tricks soon about my Pottery Barn taste on a Home Goods budget.

First and foremost I am a wife to my handsome and handy husband, Michael (you’ll get to know him soon as the one who makes all my DIY dreams come true) and mama to my greatest joy in life, baby Nicolas. There is so much truth to the quote “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and they day you find out why.” -Mark Twain. Oh how true that was when our son came into this world. So prepare yourself, you will see a lot of our little Nico. He is 10 months old and Time…ya you, please slow down.

So I would say I am an old soul. I love everything old. Books (you’ll find especially are ma thang), architecture, movies, people, stuff… I just love it! I have traveled to quite a few places in this world and nothing brings me more inspiration and thirst for knowledge then walking through an old alley full of antique book stores in a town like London. Like gosh, there were people who lived before us and people who will live after us, I love getting lost in history (even if its fiction). Who said “a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies?” well you hit the nail on the head Mr. George R. R. Martin.
